{"id":858,"date":"2013-02-15T08:00:54","date_gmt":"2013-02-15T14:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/?p=858"},"modified":"2018-07-21T14:36:30","modified_gmt":"2018-07-21T19:36:30","slug":"friday-finds-professional-services-bios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/2013\/02\/friday-finds-professional-services-bios\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Engage Your Users: Professional Services Bios"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">Most of us have experienced health clinic websites that allow you to view the photos and bios of physicians \u2013 allowing you to select a doctor based on whichever criteria is most important to you (e.g., specialty, years of experience).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">What puzzles is me is why all companies who offer professional services don\u2019t do the same thing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There is tremendous value in allowing customers to evaluate and select the professional that best fits their needs \u2013 whether it\u2019s budget, availability, specialty, years of experience, customer reviews or another attribute. The experience feels personalized and helps the user feel empowered.<\/p>\n<p>For many companies, the idea of allowing customers to select who they want to work with at your organization is \u2013 understandably \u2013 a major operational challenge. At minimum, it\u2019s worth seriously looking into it. If you can, run a small test pilot or offer this feature to just your VIP customers to vet out the viability and ROI.<\/p>\n<p>Two companies that I think do this very well are <a title=\"H&amp;R Block\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hrblock.com\" target=\"_blank\">H&amp;R Block<\/a> and <a title=\"Ameriprise Financial\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ameriprise.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ameriprise Financial<\/a>. On H&amp;R&#8217;s website, there is a big &#8220;Make an Appointment&#8221; button next to each tax professional.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/salesbios_hrblock.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-859\" title=\"professional services bio\" src=\"http:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/salesbios_hrblock.jpg\" alt=\"H&amp;R Block\" width=\"610\" srcset=\"https:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/salesbios_hrblock.jpg 1074w, https:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/salesbios_hrblock-300x203.jpg 300w, https:\/\/juneux.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/salesbios_hrblock-1024x694.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I especially love the Ameriprise example because it capitalizes on the most powerful criteria: my personal network. After you connect your Linkedin to Ameriprise, the website recommends financial advisers based on your shared professional connections.
